Ishmael Beah
" The first time in my life I had my own room. Most poeple would take this for granted. For me it was absolutely intriguing!"(Beah, 2009) I find it hard to believe that someone could go from having to go fetch their water for a bath to living in a hotel room years later. For Ishmael to go, as a child, from war to New York writing a book is miraculous! It must be like a dream to him, or at least it had to seem like a dream at first. I seriously find it so unfathomable that today, for him to come from a child in war, he is standing in front of hundreds of students talking about his book he wrote and what he had to go through to get here. Kudos to Ishmael Beah!!

A Fantastic Weekend!
This weekend I went home and got to see my best friend, boyfriend, family, my cat!! I love going home. It was so relaxing and fun. Although, on my way back my roommate informed me that she had been sick all weekend, so i havent been able to stay in my dorm at all. meaning i don't have any of my books or clothes available all the time. which sort of sucks, because it makes me late to my classes (like today). it makes everything stressful , as if it's not already. i can't wait until tomorrow is over, because i only have two classes thursday and one class friday. then i get to see travis (my boyfriend) all weekend!! :) and go to my sisters volleyball tournament.

as the winner of americas got talent went onto the stage with excitement raging inside him, the crowd roared at his accomplishments. on the otherside of the tv screen, however, was the complete oposite. nestled in my parents bed, i was mearly enjoying the show, when the tv got silent. no voices were heart and i could only hear the house creeking. my dad said, " we found a lump on your mom, and we're not sure what it is'. in that second i felt as if my heart had been disconnected from my body.
